High Court<\/em><br>The High Court has the authority to impose any sentence, including the death penalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x25fe; <em>2. Sessions Court<\/em><br>The Sessions Court can pass any sentence, including the death sentence.<br>However, a death sentence requires confirmation by the High Court before it can be executed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x25fe; <em>3. Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM)<\/em><br>The Chief Judicial Magistrate may pass any sentence except:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Death sentence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imprisonment for life, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imprisonment exceeding seven years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x25fe; <em>4. Magistrate of the First Class<\/em><br>The Magistrate of the First Class may pass sentence:<br>&#8211; Imprisonment up to 3 years<br>&#8211; Fine up to \u20b950,000<br>&#8211; Or community service<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x25fe; <em>5. Magistrate of the Second Class<\/em><br>The Magistrate of the Second Class may pass sentence:<br>&#8211; Imprisonment up to 1 year<br>&#8211; Fine up to \u20b910,000<br>&#8211; Or community service<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x25fe; <em>6. Imprisonment in Default of Fine<\/em><br>Imprisonment in default of payment of fine shall not exceed one-fourth of the maximum sentence the Magistrate is authorized to impose.<br>The imprisonment must be within the prescribed limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x25fe; <em>7.
